‘Catch Me A Killer’: SA criminal profiler’s memoir turned into series

The South African true crime world was put on the global map with the release of the bestselling memoir Catch Me A Killer. Dr Micki Pistorius’s memoir details her time as a psychological profiler at the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Good Things Guy reports that the bestselling memoir is now being adapted into a global series. The show is set in the 1990s when Pistorius’s career as a profiler first began. Her job was using psychological profiling to catch the people behind some of South Africa’s most infamous murders.

‘GAME OF THRONES’ ACTRESS TO STAR IN ‘CATCH ME A KILLER’ ADAPTATION

Good Things Guy reported that actress Charlotte Hope will portray Pistorius in the series adaptation. Hope is famous for her work in series such as Game of Thrones and The Spanish Princess and movies like The Nun and The Theory of Everything.

It has also been reported that filming has already started in South Africa and that the series will hit our screens in 2023.

Micki Pistorius is known not just for her professional career, but her personal life has also made the headlines a few times. She is the aunt of convicted murderer and paralympian Oscar Pistorius.

Pistorius is known not just for her own work as a profiler in the SAPS, but she was also the mentor and predecessor of bestselling author and criminal profiler Dr Gérard Labuschagne.

Labuschagne’s own memoir, The Profiler Diaries, also became a bestseller. This memoir is similar to Catch Me A Killer, as it explored some of South Africa’s biggest crime cases and the profilers involved.
