‘Uthando Nesthembu’ recap: Mseleku says Polygamy is a bad thing

Last week’s (20 October) episode of Uthando Nesthembu saw Musa Mseleku approach an elder for advice with regards to taking wife number five.

He told bab’Ngcamu, an elder and confidant that perhaps he is failing to relay his vision to his wives which is why there is differing opinions.

“I think we’re quarrelling because I am failing to relay my vision properly now. Maybe it would also help if you could help me explain…This is a consequence of a vision I had mentioned before and that’s why I want to take another wife,” Mseleku explained.

‘YOU TOOK FOREVER TO FIND ANOTHER WIFE’

Bab’Ngcamu says, “historically if you look at the people who took many wives, they don’t allow the gap to be too wide before they take another wife.

“Previously you observed the rule with the other wives. You didn’t leave too wide a gap but recently you left the gap too wide,” Ngcamu said

This is said to have then made his fourth wife, Mbali ‘MaNgwabe’ Mseleku feel as though she was the last wife.

“She thought she was the last one and one would come after her because so many years have passed,” Ngcamu says.

Ngcamu adds that MaNgwabe could be scared that the new wife will be loved more.

MSELEKU ADMITS POLYGAMY IS A BAD THING

“In all honesty, polygamy is a very bad thing. If someone marries you today and you tell them you’re taking another wife tomorrow, she’ll say but I haven’t been here for long,” says Musa.

“When you wait three or five years, they’ll still say I’ve been here for only a few years and you’re already marrying again. After ten years, she’ll say you’re being insensitive and you don’t love her so she has nothing to say to you,” Mseleku explains.

The patriarch says because of this, there’s never really a right time for a man to introduce the next one.

The reality tv star and Ngcamu then recalled when one of the wives said she did not want to be a part of polygamy but Mseleku was told to give her time. The said wife eventually agreed.
