Well-known veterinarian killed in HORRIFIC farm attack

A 72-year-old well-known veterinarian was found tied up, lying motionless in a pool of blood in a HORRIFIC farm attack near Delmas.

THE WELL-KNOWN VETERINARIAN WAS FOUND IN A POOL OF BLOOD

The attack happened in his house on a farm in Klipspruit Waaikraal (between Delmas / Bronkhorstspruit).

Police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the murder happened on Tuesday morning.

The murdered man has been identified as a well-known veterinarian Jesse Henry Coleman who worked in Benoni.

“The police at Delmas are investigating a farm attack following an incident in which a 72-year-old man was brutally killed. The incident is said to have occurred at a certain farm this morning, Tuesday 27 September 2022.”

Mdhluli said the police at Delmas received information via a platform farm watch group on social media whereby a member of the slain man’s family raised the alarm about a possible attack at a farm in Klipspruit Waaikraal.

HE WAS FOUND TIED UP, LYING MOTIONLESS

“Upon arrival at the farm, they found Jesse lying motionless in a pool of blood. He was unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics who also attended the scene.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim’s hands and feet were tied when he was found. Police also discovered that the back door of the house was possibly broken by the suspect(s) to gain entry.”

He furthermore said the whole house was ransacked.

NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE YET

“His mobile phone could have been stolen during the incident; hence a charge of house robbery was added. Things were still sketchy whilst the police were processing the scene.”

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has vehemently condemned the incident.

Meanwhile, police urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrator(s) to contact call Detective Warrant Officer Jacques Smook at 0825272974 or the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.

Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.

Meanwhile, a 65-year-old woman was severely assaulted, strangled, and raped in a BRUTAL farm attack near Klerksdorp.

IN ANOTHER BRUTAL FARM ATTACK – AN ELDERLY WOMAN WAS SEVERELY ASSAULTED AND RAPED

According to the police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh, the brutal attack happened around 23:00 on Friday evening.

“The 65-year-old woman was sleeping, and she woke up, hearing a window break. A man pointed her with a firearm and demanded money.”

Myburgh said the elderly woman was assaulted, strangled, and raped.

“The man took her cellphone and left. The woman called for help from a neighbor.”

Photos of the severity of her injuries were shared on social media.
